About MOHAI Workers United
MOHAI Workers United (MWU) brings together all non-supervisory staff at the Museum of History & Industry from every department across the South Lake Union museum and Georgetown resource center worksites. We organize because we believe in MOHAI’s potential to collect, preserve, and share stories of our region’s history. We organize because we want a voice in our workplace and relationship with management that allows us to flourish, celebrates experimentation, and fosters connection and trust between the museum and the public.
As workers at MOHAI, we are familiar with the power of collective action. Seattle’s history is filled with countless examples of workers coming together to fight for better wages, working conditions, and democracy in the workplace, from the Seattle General Strike to the Fight for $15 movement. We too strive to build a workplace that allows us to flourish, as workers, as an institution, and as a community.

We have chosen to affiliate with Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 7800. CWA Local 7800 represents a wide range of private and public workers across communications and information industries, health care, education, culture, and other fields - including our colleagues at the National Nordic Museum.
